My First Romantic (Nature) Poem

Sakura:

Its branches sway gently in the breeze

The petals falling gracefully on the ground

Slowly winter comes to an end

A sign that spring is around the corner

Have you ever seen something so profound?

Beautiful during the day

Even more during the night

Such elegance, such beauty

What power it has to leave one speechless

Have you ever seen a more wonderful sight?

Sometimes has a meaning for romance

As I watch a petal fall slowly to my palm

The scenery just leaves you in surprise and awe

Just looking at them

It makes me feel somewhat calm.

As the sun sets and I take my leave

I take one last look at the cherry blossoms, and feel at ease

Being able to see them

This memory I will not forget

As the cool air brushes upon me from the night’s breeze.

Memoir

As I look back through the years

The time we spent together

We were the best of friends

Enjoying each other’s company

Those precious memories dear to my heart

Until that one day…

We were going out on a walk

One quiet and peaceful night

You were quiet and you didn’t seem yourself

I wanted to ask what was wrong

Yet when I approached, you shunned me away.

You seemed upset, I didn’t know why.

Then you said that it wasn’t going to work between us anymore

I was surprised and wanted to know how.

You said you were seeing someone else, that your circumstances changed.

I found it hard, seeing you sad like this.

I was upset, yet my heart softened as tears fell

You thought I would hate you for not telling me.

I stood my ground, and placed a hand on your shoulder

And looked into your tear-streaked face

I said that I understood and that I wasn’t angry, that I was actually happy

I held you close for the last time as you cried long and hard.

As the tears dried away and we said our goodbyes

You quickly went back and gave me a kiss of parting.

Now as I look back through the years, I don’t regret meeting you

Because I know I could never forget you.

Your face, your beauty, and your smile

Is etched forever into my mind.

I go outside and look at the evening sky

And think back on those precious memories

Of you and I.
